She Went Deeper

She Went Deeper
The earth opened up
Gently
Quietly
Without a murmur
It took her unaware
Gently
Quietly
Without a murmur
She awoke to the darkness
Completely
Surrounded
Her heart pounding
She was scared
She was alone
She was disorientated
She was different
How did this happen?
The mystery blanketed by a sorrow
Sorrow, so deep, so dark and so desperate
Totally encompassing
Devouring all of her
She tried to get up
She fought it
She closed her eyes and her heart
She covered herself up and got lost
For a while
She was hidden
Anything she did to get out seemed to cause the hole to get deeper
The earth crashing down around her
Hurting more
Hiding more
Until she could no longer move
And accepted defeat at the bottom of her soul
From there
From the hurt
From the sorrow
The call could be heard
The beat of her heart seemed to be at one with the beat of the earth
She called, the earth echoed
The earth called, she responded
Eventually there was harmony
The darkness that was once so disorientating
Became at one with the rhythm
She was a part of a secret dance
An ancient discovery
Unearthing
Deep
She was no longer afraid of the darkness
She took a deep breath
She looked deeper
She felt deeper
She heard the music that had been unheard
Unheard because of the cacophony of life
Unrelenting, unforgiving
She went deeper
Deeper than she thought she could ever go
Into the mystery
Into the heartache
Into the depths of despair
She was diving
She was digging
She was gaining strength
She was gaining depth
Of wisdom
What she found there
At the bottom
In the darkness
In the heart of the universe
Were the answers to those secrets
The secret elixir
The secret alchemy
The secret of life
She went so deep that she found the vein of gold
She went so deep that the diamonds glistened
Sharing their light, sharing their beauty
Sharing the knowledge
The looked behind her and the path she had woven
Had formed a staircase of hope that led directly towards a light
She was so deep that it looked like a tiny, glistening star
A ray of hope
Seducing
She was deeper
But she had reached her core
The core of the earth
They had become one
The vein of gold in the earth was wrapped around her heart
The strength of the diamonds had woven into her soul
The seducing light called
She could no longer stay in the dark womb she had created
She lusted after the light
She moved toward it
Gently
Quietly
Without a murmur
As she ascended the light grew
Sharing the beauty
Opening her eyes
Opening her heart
Allowing the depth of desires
To get deeper
Deeper
She rose some more as the light grew and grew
She picked the stems of faith and determination
She planted the roots of foundation and courage
She built up the boundaries of love and of peace
She rose from the deepest, darkest of places
She rose to the beauty of love and of light
She rose from the ashes, just like a phoenix
Emerging, birthing a new way of life
Gasping in awe
Gaining in strength
Glory she found
Grace she embodied
The deeper your darkness
The brighter your light
It’s yours to discover
Don’t give up the fight
Go deeper
Inside you
Do not be afraid
Your burdens
Will reveal
Your strength
It is made
From all of your sadness
And all of your pain
The light will start shining
For you to regain
