She Serves From Overflow — poem by Alexandra Gold

She Serves From Overflow

She Serves From Overflow

In a crazy, noisy world
Filled with the day to day
She must find that place of Gold
Within her heart to stay

Within her soul, within her mind
Where she’s full of love and knows
From there is where her gifts will come
To Serve from Overflow

The duties she must first fulfil
Are tedious and dull
But filled with good intention
They work to help the flow

She takes her time
She gathers more
Beauty in her mind
For there are bounteous things to do
Solutions still to find

But first she needs to tend her hearth
And make sure that it glows
As embers stir the hearts and minds
And comfort then can grow

And once her home is tended to
She rests and stills her pace
For now the time for her is near
She must fill herself with grace

For there are many wrongs to right
Within this world we live in
And she must be full up with peace
To share what she’s been given

She knows that she must take care of
Herself and her home first
For from that place of calm and love
The gift she has will burst

And so with practice
Day by day
She takes care of herself
And finds her inner beauty spot
From where she spreads her wealth

She does not rest though
She does not stop
As with the nature flows
Give and receive the order of
Divinity she grows

And once her rhythm has been found
Equilibrium profound
She sows her seeds again, again
On foundations, solid ground

The season’s pass
Begin again
Once more to fill her cup
For she must serve from overflow
Sacred love built up
