She Is Authentic — poem by Alexandra Gold

She Is Authentic

She is Authentic

Everyday
In whatever mood she is in
Whatever she wears
Whatever she decides
Whatever she thinks
Whatever she feels like
Whatever she looks like
That is authentic

She is Authentic when she tries something new
She may not be good at it but she is trying too
She is Authentic in all that she says
Even the smiles when inside she feels sad

Just because you have seen her be something else
She is living her moment in the best way for herself
Don’t make her feel worse for doing her best
If she doesn’t match up to all of the rest

She is making the most of her energy, love
And sometimes are harder, she needs strength from above
Sometimes this talk of authentic and truth
Scares her into not knowing how to act, what to do

She tries again harder and then falls on the ground
When in fact she was perfect before she was found
In every moment, In every breath
She is living and giving a lot of herself

If you scorn her, or mock her or push her aside
That is your authentic problem, not hers – she is well
The pressure she feels to live up to the top
Of looking and being and doing is hell

Just let her relax and enjoy every day
If you really love her, it is better that way
Remember that changes occur all the time
If we didn’t try different ways we would find

That those around doing the best they can do
Are authentically growing and you could be too
Don’t listen to others pretending its peasy
For the truth is authentic is not bloomin’ easy

As each day comes with peaks, troughs and with fears
So just relax in the day, just make it real
