She Can Have It All — poem by Alexandra Gold

She Can Have It All

She Can Have It All

As long as she is clear
Of what she wants
For what is ‘it all’ anyway?
Different for you,
Different for me
The hardest thing about having it all
Is knowing what ‘it’ is!

In a world bombarded
With everything and more
How hard it is to understand
What it is that we adore

But the magic when you find it
Is like being handed on a plate
All you have ever wished for
And more it is just great

When you narrow down the options
Of where you want to be
Of how you wish to get there
Of what you want to see

Of where you’d like to go to
Of what you’d like to do
Of when you’d like to do it
Is pretty special too

For when you have true clarity
Of what ‘it’ is you’ll see
That having it is easier
Than you ever thought that it could be

So instead of reading other dreams
Instead of watching theirs come true
Start clarifying all you desire
Then start doing all you need to do

For the plans of getting all you want
Are easier to stick to
When you know they are achievable
For excitement makes you do

Then taking action is a pleasure
Taking time to sink it in
For whilst getting all you want in life
Is doing not just getting

Get really clear on your own desires
Mix them in with those you hold dear
Then set a goal achievable
To cement the magic in

Once this has been done once or twice
And you see and feel the pleasure
You’ll realise that you always have ‘it’ all
And that is the true treasure!
