SHE IS ... Our Future
What shall I leave behind for the future?
What shall I leave in the past?
I cannot go forth with this heavy a burden
I need to let go and restart
Who will I leave in my scrapbook of memories?
And take only the joy and the smiles
For I cannot hold on to a host of emotions
That do nothing to fill up my heart
What can I gather to tend my new garden?
What seeds shall I plant and enjoy ?
For this knapsack I’m given to carry me forward
Needs only that that I need to employ
I need not carry burdens nor past imperfections
Nor shame and not envy nor greed
The lightest parts that share my passions and pleasures and help those that really me need
For that I must ensure my discipline focused
New routines and habits are formed
Stick to my plans with consistent tenacity
Until embodied my new ways are norm
I plant not a seed that will show me a blossom
Nor a canopy where I feel shade
I only take comfort from the trust that my life’s work is for others and legacy made
