Like fire it burns
Like ice piercing through her
Invading her soul
But what is this emotion?
What part does it play?
Is it primal survival?
Or harsh light of day?

But no longer will she
Let it control her
She controls it now you see
Times fear is so fierce
It sends her into a shell
And this happens now
Although she does wear it well
For fear is a part of being human and so
Instead of allowing this emotion to grow
She now listens closely and deciphers to see
Is it real? Is it false? Is it possibility?
Is it in her body, her mind or her soul?
Is it protecting her or keeping her small?
From all that she could be and truly desires?
Is it keeping her safe or quelling her fire?

She chooses to see
That it can be stifled
And used to set her free
Stepping through boundaries
One step at a time
Taking each moment
Making fear fuel for desire
Sitting with fear and taking control
Of what it is saying and being headstrong
Mastery, Trickery – It comes in all forms
Protection, Illusion, Disguised as the norm
So takes a step back and feel where it is
Is it stopping you living the life where love gives
You courage and confidence to take risks and renew
Who you are being and what you could do?

But she uses it too
For momentum and power
Electric Fear is her fuel
She will never quite lose it
But perhaps this is good
For without her electric
She would just stand where she’s stood
So instead of surrender
Use fear with aplomb
This enemy conquered
Reveal horizons unknown
The fear running through her
She now turns into passion
Nothing can stop her
Fire burns fear into ashes
