Her Rebel Self Care Vow
I will not apologise
For drinking wine whilst feeling down
And I won’t feel ashamed to smile
Whilst you’re sad, wear a long frown
I won’t be frivolous with what I know
If you respect me, then I’ll sow
I won’t share my time for free
For time is precious, don’t you see?
I’ll no longer people please
I’ll own my worth, my self esteem
I’ll not be driven by self doubt
And I am brave enough to shout
I can’t be perfect but I’ll try
To give and do my best all whilst
Knowing that my greatest gifts
Are accepting and embodying this
I will not have my energy
Fraught with negativity
I’ll keep my boundaries fiercely bound
With what I need to keep my ground
I will not not say no, no more
For my power I must store
I will not spread myself too thin
For if I’m not full, I can not give
I will not be distracted by
Someone else’s huge desires
I will ensure to keep in check
My own purpose, my loves met
I will not share my wildest dreams
For others to destroy, so keen
For if my good intentions set
I action to ensure I get
I will not let my balancing act
Be caught off kilter, going back
For I will no more be tempted by
Pretending I’ve no ego, pride
I will not forget this self care vow
I’ll remind myself that this is how
The most successful, happy folk
Give more, receive, their wisdom woke
