Playing games
Hide and Seek
It hides away
And then it peeks
Not expected
Sniggering
Growing older
Growing bolder
The relationship begins to change
You know the fear it is still hiding
Just the place it comes from strange
Jumping out when least expected
Lending doubt and causing mind
To just give in, to hand the baton
For fear is still the sneaky kind
But she breaks through once, then often
Making friends with fear of sorts
Not giving in at every angle
Expecting it at every port
The Ebb & Flow of life is such that
Easy tides are not the norm
Ups and downs lend to beauty
Living life a curious soul
With courage and an expectation
To see her uninvited friend
When bigger steps in life are taken
She breaks through fear and laughs again
She steps again with greater fervour
Looking round to call and play
With fear her friend there’s nothing left for
Her to fear – Only life to gain
