She Detoxes — poem by Alexandra Gold

She Detoxes

She Detoxes
Her life
Starting with herself
What does she need to do for herself to be
Happier, wealthier, wiser, free?
Will she refrain?
Will she regain?
Will she release?
Will she cease?
Will she resist?
Will she insist?
Will she detach?
Will she obtain?
All these questions she starts to engage in
With a mind full of answers to wallow between
Sitting quietly and listening and honestly feeling
Her truth whispers softly to her heart to explain
Journaling
Reading
Watching
Imagining
Whichever way suits her
Whatever helps gain
Clarity
Action
Excitement
Momentum
It is hers to discover
She needn’t explain
Detoxing gets rid of the stuff and the holding
Of irrational fear and excuses to stay
By releasing the extra and unhelpful baggage
She makes more room for filling her life with her dreams
Pollution will gather in folds meant for pleasure
Dust them and clean them and let old stuff go
For the room that you need to fill up with treasure
Needs space to let light in and get into flow
