She Fills The Cracks With Gold

She Fills The Cracks With Gold

She started pure, I think
Plump and soft
Small and happy
The world full of wonder
She learnt to fear
She learnt to doubt
She learnt to scream
She learnt to shout
She grew again, not much
But surely
Trust and angst
A mingled skein
She learnt to sing
She learnt to act
She learnt to shine
Her ego reigns
She stumbled, once
Her fall, unbroken
The cracks began
To form a scar
She learnt, humbled
She learnt compassion
She learnt respect
She began again
She opened, heartfelt
Prostrate, kneeling
She understood
The simple joys
She heard her heart
She tasted freedom
She touched her soul
She saw her life
She felt her love
The scent, appealing
She came alive,
Once more, again
She does not hide her greatest failures
She does not hide her greatest scars
She does not hide her future blunders
She fills the cracks with Gold
