She always knew
That she was made for more
Never fully grasping
The magnitude
Stepping into the spotlight
Tentative, wary
Her privacy was ripped open
But she was ready
She had nothing to hide
She was doing her best
She was having fun
It was time to address
Working hard
She had a message to share
Her art, her song
From a place of beauty that made her strong
She had hidden for so long
Never feeling good enough
And the stars were shining all around her
But not all were doing what was right
And as she watched from the wings
She realised that she could be that star
She could do whatever it took
And she could enjoy it
Stepping over the fear
Strewn in front of her
An assault course
Of steps to be taken if she were to reach the top
Taking all of the things that make her happy
Wrapping them up in an invisible gown that she would never take off
She gave herself the courage
To be seen
She had words to say
She had a script so valuable
It would go down in history
She was writing the scenes of time
Love was CenterStage in the plot
She was the heroine
Taking the action
Making happy endings
This was a new story
For a new paradigm
That she was a part of
She had claimed her star
The excitement palpable
Her voice clear
Her message bold
Her purpose sound
You could believe her
Trusting her every word
Trusting the way she moved
You could be her
For she is a star
Of the new story
That we are writing
