She Is Feisty — poem by Alexandra Gold

She Is Feisty

She is Feisty

Underneath the poise you see
She is aware, she can see
When you may think
That she is calm
It just that place that hides the storm

For you may wrong her
You may dismiss
Her gentle thoughts
Her kindness seen
But she does know
What you have done
It's just not like her to cast a stone

For with her learning
Does come grace
A peaceful mind
A happy place
And though she does not do you harm
She will be wary, she will be strong

For she has learnt from her mistakes
She will not be brought back down
It has taken far too long
To waste her given crown

She is feisty
She is wise
She will not waste her time
On your anger or your scorn
She will not tow your line

She will be gracious
She will be humble
She will turn the other cheek
But do not ever make mistake
She is not daft nor weak

She is aware of everything
And only chooses beauty
From where to live and where to grow
In work and what she seeks

So push her buttons
Mock her ways
And when you come back in
Don't think she hasn't seen your truth
She sees you out and in

And make sure when you cut her down
That you are sure about
The chaos that yourself creates
Of that do have no doubt

For though she will be open love
You will have to work to show her
That you do not block her way
For sure – for she is Feisty
