The Visualization
Please note that this visualization includes imagery of a beach and sand (be aware that some of your clients may be adverse and replace/reframe with a walk in the forest, using roots for grounding or in a meadow using flower imagery and blossoming)
Make sure you are in as comfortable a position as possible, either sitting in a chair or lying down. For best results, sit or lie on the ground.
Allow the weight of the body to settle down towards the earth, taking a few deeper breaths and letting go a little bit more on each out breath.
Now allow the breath to settle and to find its own natural rhythm, letting the breath breathe itself. Try not to interfere with this process, and notice how the body moves in response to the breath: the chest expanding and relaxing, the belly rising and falling. If your breath is affected in any way by your illness or pain, then just noting this with a kindly, gentle awareness.
Now imagine that you are sitting or laying on the warm sand of a beach and that your breathing is in time with the waves lapping the shore. The breeze is soothing; the air perfect, your body sinks deeper into the sand, heavier, more relaxed.
Allow yourself to become heavier and relax even further into the warmth of the sand.
Heavier, more relaxed.

Now imagine that your heart is a golden ball of energy.
Bring your attention to this energy and notice the beat of your heart in complete harmony with the universe. Feel the energy in your heart move throughout your body like a ray of light, a sunbeam gently moving through your veins giving you everything you need to be fully present and alive in the moment.
Imagine that with each breath, these beams of golden energy are moving further and further until they seamlessly move down into the sand. Feel your energy go through the surface of sand, firstly breaking through the warmth of the top sand, then further into the cooler sand that lays beneath. Eventually reaching the rich, dark soil that blankets the planet. Feel the coolness of the Earth as you go deeper, moving away from air and yet your flare of energy is in complete harmony and acceptance with everything it comes into contact with.
With each breath, allow your root to go ever deeper, through fresh, underground springs and deep water tables.
Soon you come to the Earth’s hard crust. Here, a space opens for your golden energy ball to reach through and toward the heart of our planet – where it is complete and at one.
Notice any thoughts, sensations or images that come to you as you travel on this inner journey. You don’t need to judge these, just observe them and let them pass.
Keep breathing as your energy moves within the inner core. You may begin to feel heat coming from Earth’s outer core as you move toward the molten core.
Notice your breathing once more and allow the energy to move in time with every breath, including the lava flow and the sound of the ocean to be in time and union.
Sit for a moment and bask in your deep connection to Earth. Feel how grounded and centered you are. Appreciate your body and the body of the planet.
When you’re ready, begin drawing energy from this heart center back into your body. With each breath, draw up the power of stability, grounding and love.
See the energy rise through the earth’s layers – slowly with each breath – until it reaches the base of your spine. Notice any colors or sensations, observing and allowing them without judgment.
Now begin drawing this energy into your body.
Breath and feel it moving back towards your heart.
Notice any sensations, images, colours or thoughts you may associate. Just observe. No need to judge or analyze.
Now breath and draw up the energy into Heart. Feel the flood of loving kindness envelope you as the energy of the Earth rises upward.
As the energy takes its place once more in your heart start to stretch and reach up to the sky.
As you become straighter and stretch your arms notice the energy move out of your body like an aura.
Noticing the energy beam gently from the top of your head.
Imagine it bursting forth like sunbeams. Feel your aura reach up and out toward the sun and allow yourself to draw in the energy of the universe through the beams of light.
Sit for a few more minutes, basking in your connection to both Earth and The Universe.
When you’re ready, take a few deep breaths and open your eyes.
