She Is Not Alone

She Is Not Alone
I hear you dear sister
Your cry from the heart
I will not ignore you
I will not be part
Of this old way of thinking
That tears us in two
No matter what language
Or what we may do
I hear you dear sister
I know how you feel
It isn’t the money,
It isn’t the deal
The pain that we’re feeling
All over the world
Is that love is forgotten
We must find a cure
I hear you dear sister
Though gentle your sigh
I know of your courage
I know of your why
I feel the transition
I feel all the strain
That this knowledge we’re given
Must start to end pain
I will not let you perish
I will not let you lose
I will respect your elders
As I respect you
I know that if I look close
Into your heart
That your needs are the same
Though we live miles apart
I hear you dear sister
I hear you call my name
I am trying my hardest
To teach them our ways
Of loving, abundance
Compassion for all
That there is enough one earth
For everyone born
Try not to hate me
For what you may see
My riches, my treasures
Are nothing to me
Unless through my life’s work
I continue to hear
Your voice and your wisdom
That is my legacy
