She Paints A Picture — poem by Alexandra Gold

She Paints A Picture

She Paints A Picture

She paints a picture in her mind
Of what she wants in life to find
Of all the places she may go
Of all the things that she could know

She paints a picture, soft and still
Of how what she wishes were her will
Of people who are just and kind
To give out hope and peace of mind

She paints a picture, colourful
Of a world that feels no pain
Where creatures of all colour, creed
Roam happy, laughing, wild and free

She paints a picture, rough and dancing
The people of the world romancing
Singing songs of times gone by
To help the children asking

She paints the picture in their minds
To show them that all things
That they do dream of do come true
If action follows vision

She paints the picture in her fair hand
Of how those dreams came to pass
When she believed she could, she did
She followed her own mission

Each Woman's purpose is her own
And so different are those pictures
Be sure to paint yours as your desires
Even contrasting your sisters

Each painting will be so unique
An artwork of its own
Beauty painted, diverse, changing
Showing how we've grown
