She Plans Her Journey — poem by Alexandra Gold

She Plans Her Journey

She Plans Her Journey

This lifetime she has seen so much
Gathered knowledge, empathy
She knows that she must share her gifts
She needs to plan her journey

The road ahead may be quite steep
So she makes sure that she sees
The beauty and the best way forth
Her map, her guide, her needs

Foundations laid, her home, her hearth
Is comfortable, secure
Enough for her to spread her wings
Enough for her to start

Today is all she has to fill
Take one step at a time
And plan each step be beauty full
Enough to fill her heart

Her courage stored, her face to show
All that she has to give
For those who need her, waiting by
The love she has to live

With hindsight being what it is
She has learnt from her mistakes
She gives herself permission to
Live her life with grace

Letting go of all her fears,
Her shame, her guilt, her doubts
In order to attempt her dreams
She plans to work it out

She takes the action, inspired thought
To see that all she does
Will do no harm, in any way
She grows in confidence

For her foresight, if embodied
Will help to lead the way
In all she does with loving heart
Growing every day

She does her best and learns some more
Gathering all she can
The tools, the gifts, the path is cleared
She adds them to her plan

She knows that she may not see
The fruit fall from the tree
That she has grown from little seed
And still she is happy

For she is living purpose filled
Doing all she can
To make the world a better place
Legacy, her life, the plan
