She Still Gets Sad

She Still Gets Sad
Lonely
Down she falls
Recognising
The now familiar signs
Empty
That is all she feels
Trying to fill the gap
With comforting needs
Why?
She asks
Does this still occur?
Does this still happen?
Does this still hurt?
How?
Can I get through
Another day
With the sadness
Controlling
Me in this way
Anger
Is rising
Emotions
Run high
Her spirit has left her
It feels high and dry
Quiet
Is all
She can cope with
Right now
Her heart
Softly beating
Her mind
Winding down
Her lips
Form no answers
Holding tight
Holding firm
Her eyes
Simply question
Her soul
It does burn
Surrendering
Gently
She falls and she falls
Into pillow escaping
The harrowing calls
But somewhere
A voice springs
Eternal again
Giving rise to her wanting
To begin again
She doesn’t give up yet
She gets through once more
And each time it happens
She falls less to the floor
For she realises something
A glimmer of hope
That others are waiting
For her song to cope
Each time she grows stronger
Her empathic core
Recognises in others
The sign of the fall
She’s there waiting for you
Just knock on her door
She still has sad feelings
But won’t live there no more
