She Will Break But She Will Heal

She Will Break, But She Will Heal
There is a golden thread
Attached to a needle of pain
Piercing the hearts of women
Again and again and again
Sometimes just left in wonder
In guilt and gilded shame
Why are so many hurting?
Who is there to blame?
The knock of grief comes pounding
The cry of ‘not again’
Why do we have to feel so much?
The fear, the anger, strain
There is a golden thread, you know
But it is not all it seems
For sewing us together is
The way to set us free
Imagine if we all took time
To hold each other’s hand
The line would wrap around the world
Unity in every land
For many moons have come to pass
Where women have been seen
To be the ones who follow suit
Even those who take a stand
There is a golden thread, you see
A golden thread of hope
That if we darn our hearts and mend
We’ll find a better way to cope
For some of us it is too much
Then healing must be given
A tender, comfort hearth to rest
Recuperate in heaven
For heaven can be here on earth
And those who are quite able
To lead the world, solutions find
Step up to make it happen
For those who need to learn some more
To trust, believe and see
That innate wisdom, intuition
Are all that’s needed be
Those who judge are not yet ready
To lead to pastures new
For courage is this new aged armour
Empathy is very heavy
And when your heart feels broken, love
Will come to lift you up
When every space that has been wounded
Is filled from our own cup
You see the cycle will return
Again, again, again.
For every woman on this earth
Is built to feel the pain
But you are not alone, my dear
I feel everything you do
And sometimes I wish for nothing more
To rest and heal some too
When you understand that life
Is given us today
To share our love
To share our joy
To share what we’ve learnt from pain
Imagine then a world where we
Make spaces that reflect
That each and every one of us
Deserves dignity, respect
Our hospitals and homes would be
The places that would be
Those wonders of the world that make
Us heal and happy be
So if you feel the pain again
Just know that it is sent
To lift the world to change the way
Of life and how it’s meant
For broken feel the pain to mend
And feel the pain until
Solutions, healing, common sense
Are used with our free will
There is a Golden Thread that mends
The hearts of you and me
If we use it well and sew the seeds
It will mend the world, you’ll see
