She Melts — poem by Alexandra Gold

She Melts

She Melts

Soft open heart
Eyes pouring tears
Body heavy
Weak knees
Overcome

The beauty too much
For her cracked heart to bear
For the tears she has cried
For the love she can share

Melting into light on the water
Reflections
The stars jump over the moon

She sees beauty in what’s left behind
Discarded so forlorn
She knows that life stirs in the embers
She knows from night there comes a dawn

Memories shared
Stories told
The sparkle is in the eye
Of the melted woman
Whose only wish is for love to conquer all

Melting like chocolate in the palm of her hand
Melting as if she were buried in a pyramid of soft pillows
Melting so that her anger can dissipate in the beauty
Her fear can be embraced in a lovers arms
Her spirit can be lifted to ecstatic heights
And her life can be reborn
Over and over and over again

Constantly melting in surrender
Constantly diving into the depths of wonder

Her breath caught in the clouds of love

Dizzy with a passion that is greater than her
Awash with the beauty of her melting heart
