She Grieves — A Woman On Purpose poem image

She Grieves

She Grieves

In the pit of despair
The earth becomes cold
Where there is no more to give
And nothing to hold

Where the love that was there
Is no longer received
It is part of the ether
That is part of the grief

Sorrow, forsaken
Mourn all you need
Lament it is human
You need time to grieve

Where devotion is needed
It does not always go
For the path that we walk
Does not always flow

Where our heart is the anchor
Where our love is the key
Sometimes the emptiness
All that’s left for us see

Where we don’t have the answers
Where we don’t have a clue
For loss is an angle
That nobody is due

Where there is nothing left
No place to call home
That pit of despair
Engulfs the soul

The grief is unwanted
The loss is too deep
There is nothing to say
And no words to speak

For there are some things
That cannot be touched
By words or good meaning
They must just be felt

Understand nothing
Remember the love
There is no rhyme or reason
For losing that love

Why, is repeated
Again and again
There is no escaping
Immense grief and pain

But do not give up on love
Do not give in
There are plenty of reasons
For you to regain

Your spirit for living
Your spirit for life
Your spirit for giving
Your spirit for love

In the pit of despair
You are welcome to hold
My heart for good keeping
Until you become bold

And find the strength to return
To the life you can lead
Sharing all you have become
Love is the seed

Memories welcome
Hearts will be full
Gratitude for the loss
We did hold

I beg you remember
You are worthy, enough
And when you are ready
Return to your love
