Her Legacy
Whilst there are children dying
Whilst there are babies being born
In tents and washed in puddles
Their parents countries torn
Whilst there are many others suffering
Without dignity, respect
Whilst the strain of simply living
Becomes too much for some to bear
Whilst politicians keep on fighting
With just one wish to win the vote
Whilst they keep forgetting right from wrong
That their jobs are to bring us hope
Whilst the pious don religious cloths
Yet still preach anger, hate division
Her legacy is written clear
A precious job her given
For if not her, who will start to change what's wrong to right
For if not her, who will bring
Refuge and respite
For if not her, her tender ways
Her empathy and care
For if not her, then who will
Be the one to lead us there
Whilst she has breath in her body
And love in her heart
The strength to keeping going
And learning and laugh
Whilst those who are watching
And hearing her sing
Get inspired by her actions
Enough to find peace
Whilst sharing her gifts and growing some more
She spreads joy, understanding, comfort and love
Whilst sharing imperfect perfection and hope
She forms a new way of living with courage and hope
And one day she'll look back no regrets, no dismay
She'll know that she did of her best everyday
Whilst others were blaming and shouting out loud
She did all she could to spread love all around
She did it with beauty, her essence to share
She did it with learning how to serve with good care
With all that she had and all she did know
She built a paradigm living
Her seeds she did sow
