So many times I have sat down
To write this truth out loud
And yet it takes more courage than
I thought to get it down
I make mistakes
All of the time
Some so big I cannot fathom
Some so small they can’t be seen
But in my heart they happen
The one thing that I have learnt to do
To be and keep discover
Is that the only way to carry on
Is to forgive your inner lover
For if I were to stop and never
Choose to move along
Then I would not be helping those
Who need to hear my song
Forgiveness is the only way
Let go and try again
Learn, move on and do your best
You will make mistakes again
So take the time to look inside your heart and hold it dear
For the greatest mistake you’ll ever make is to give love up for fear
Forgive yourself
And others too
For the alternative is poor
And if you will abundant live
Then go out and make mistakes
The answers may not come at once
Indeed some not at all
But when you look back, over time
You’ll know you gave your all
