She Practices Non-Attachment — poem by Alexandra Gold

She Practices Non-Attachment

She Practices Non Attachment

Not attached to drama
Not attached to pain
Not attached to outcome
Not attached to gain

Not attached to feelings
Although she feels them too
She patiently absorbs them
To learn what she must do

She does her work
And let's it go
She knows she's done her best
It isn't perfect but it will do
Where she falls down
Others excel
That's life put to the test

She knows too much attachment curbs
Taking action, the next step
In order her cup overflow
In order no regret

Standing back
Taking time
Solutions can be found
For those challenges be overcome
For love to stand its ground

Standing back
Taking time
Looking from above
She can see the bigger picture
Observing and expanding

Standing back
Taking time
What goodness can she see
In those attached to everything
Not giving sense or reason

Non attached to what she wants
For she trust that all is given
When she does take the action shown
With common sense she’s driven

She uses her senses to achieve
Resolutions for the future
Resolutions for the now
Non attachment is her blessing
